From the economic perspective, the objective of this article is to analyze the effects of Covid-19 on the lives of agricultural families in a small municipality, the case of Coimbra/MG, who participate in the National School Feeding Program (PNAE), aiming to understand the dynamics of family planning, its effects and gaps, in times of a global pandemic. The PNAE is one of the State's social programs, created both to strengthen family farming and to promote access to food for basic education students. Methodologically, we chose to interview the local families responsible for the production and participation of the PNAE's social policy, combined with a literature review and secondary data on the subject. In general, the PNAE has been able to present quick responses, with adaptations in its institutional arrangement, allowing the family farming subsystem to remain, even in the face of the pandemic crisis, due to greater involvement of family members, flexible and solidarity actions.
