Continuity in the left government? Consequence of the existence of the Modern World-wide System
Abstract
Starting from the analysis of the “world system”, the article discusses Brazil’s foreign policy on the basis of the indivisibility between politics and economy and on the basis of a certain understanding of the dynamics of the capitalist system and the role of the State in this process. When dealing with changes or differences that characterize the foreign policy of the present administration, it is possible to unmask the links that exist between the orthodox internal policy and foreign policy. It thus becomes clear that the government’s “neoliberal continuity” does not lie only in its economic policy, but also in its foreign policy, in spite of the presence of differences that may conceal such connections.
Key words: world-system, State, foreign policy.Downloads
