Theories of practice in the analysis of consumption

The article offers a presentation of the contributions of the British sociologist Alan Warde on theories of practice, emphasizing the analyses that seek to understand the phenomena of consumption in the contemporary societies. In this sense, it discusses the central ideas related to the concept of practice and its implications for the analysis of the sphere of consumption. Furthermore, it adds some approaches that aim to provide a theoretical basis relevant to an emerging sociology of consumption.Key words: practice, consumption, performance, nexus.
