The purpose of this document is to share some reflections about two distant and very different territories: Morocco and France. The idea is to discuss some pathways of analysis from the perspective of a sociology of subjectivity. Our effort focuses on trying to identify – on the basis of some empirical approaches and critical texts – who are the poor in each country and how they perceive themselves. We then address the location of poverty and the peculiarities of each context. The next section explains the different risk conditions which put the inhabitants of both countries in vulnerable spaces or circumstances throughout their lives. Finally, we present some reflections with the intention of challenging or provoking the reader.
Key words: poverty, social vulnerability, perception, migration, population.Downloads
