Abstract

This text is a review of “The Great Transformation” by Karl Polanyi. The text reconstructs the central theses and articulations of the book. It emphasizes the idea of freedom that Polanyi develops, which is similar to Hegel. Finally, a difficulty in prognosticating the book is pointed out.
