The article analyzes, in the light of the concept of syndemics, proposed by Merrill Singer,
the effects of the spread of the disease caused by the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) in
Brazilian Federal District’s prison facilities in 2020. Consisting an exploratory analysis of the available data, this article recognizes that, despite data limitations and a smaller number of hospital admissions and chronic diseases among the district prison system’s population, it is possible to partially apply the concept of syndemics for Covid-19 among the population object of this study.
